“How can a drug addict with Rs. 50 reach Singhu border to commit sacrilege?”, asks Singhu border victim’s sister

Yesterday, a dead body of a man was found near the Singhu Border protest site. The Nihangs near the protest site had taken responsibility for the killing of the man, who had been identified as Lakhbir Singh, a resident of Cheema Kalan village of Tarn Taran.

According to the reports, Lakhbir Singh’s sister Raj Kaur said that her brother was a drug addict and did not have Rs. 50 in his pocket and could not have travelled to Delhi to commit the sacrilege. She questioned the circumstances for which he was killed and reportedly said, “There is a conspiracy behind his killing.”

According to the reports, the victim Lakhbir was living with his sister for a couple of years as his wife and children had left him. She also informed that he used to steal utensils from the neighbourhood to arrange money for his liquor. On Wednesday, he had borrowed Rs. 50 from his sister to go to Jhabal.

Raj Kaur also reportedly said that he went along with a person who was in the guise of a Nihang. He had also consumed liquor at a marriage function. Further, she informed that he often used to talk to someone who he addressed “Sandhu Sahib”.

The village Sarpanch also said that it was a matter of investigation that how an addict with only Rs. 50, reached Delhi, and committed a sacrilege.

A Nihang Sikh named Saravjit Singh has reportedly surrendered to the police.
