Bains-Karwal clash: FIR against Bains under section 307 of IPC

Ludhiana, February 8

A clash between Lok Isaf Party’s Simarjit Singh Bains and Congress’ Kamajit Singh Karwal was witnessed on Monday. After which an FIR has been registered against Simarjit Singh Bains and 32 of his accomplices.

This includes Simarjit Singh Bains brother, his personal assistant, and also, some councillors of the Lok Insaf Party. Other than that, 100-150 unknown people have also been booked.

The FIR has been filed on the complaint of Gurwinder Singh. The incident happened on Monday evening near the New Janta Nagar area.

The attackers pelted stones, in which the car of four people including Kamaljeet Singh Karwal was badly damaged. It is alleged that all this happened in front of the police. After receiving the information of the incident, JCP (Rural) Ravcharan Singh Brar, ADCP-2 Baldev Singh Randhawa reached the spot along with SHO of different police stations. A heavy police force was witnessed in the area.

The FIR has been registered under sections 307, 427, 148, 149, 506, 188 and several other sections of the Arms Act and Epidemic Act.

It is to be noted that Simarjit Singh Bains and Kamaljeet Singh Karwal are up against each other in the 2022 Assembly elections. Congress candidate from Atam Nagar constituency, Kamajit Singh Karwal will contest the elections against the sitting MLA from Lok Insaf Party, Simarjit Singh Bains.
