Ludhiana, September 25
Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota was appointed as the new DGP (Director General of Police), Punjab on September 25. He has replaced IPS officer Dinkar Gupta who was serving as DGP, Punjab from February 2019.
It is to be noted that Dinkar Gupta’s wife and former Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan, was also replaced by IAS Anirudh Tewari.

Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota, the new DGP Punjab, is a 1988-batch IPS officer. He was in the race for the post along with VK Bhawra and Sidharth Chattopadhyaya.
