Ludhiana, March 30
Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Varinder Kumar Sharma has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Ludhiana Improvement Trust. On Tuesday, March 29, the orders were issued.
The orders read, “In exercise of powers conferred under sub section (2) of section 4 of the Punjab Town Improvement Act 1922, and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to appoint Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana as Chairman of Improvement Trust Ludhiana with immediate effect till further orders.
It is to be noted that the orders came in just a day after Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Gogi conducted a surprise check at the Ludhiana Improvement Trust Office.
Yesterday, when he visited the office, he said, “The site of Ludhiana City Centre project in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar area will be converted into a Government Hospital.” Also, he directed the employees in the Improvement Trust Office to do their duties in a corruption-free environment.
