Ludhiana, January 10
In Ludhiana, arrangements have been made on behalf of the administration and health department regarding the booster dose of coronavirus.
From today onwards, booster doses will be given to the senior citizens, healthcare workers, doctors, and frontline workers in Dayanand Medical College and Civil Hospital.
After a long time, today, 11 vaccination camps have been organized for the age group of 15-18. 115 camps have been set up for elderly people. A large number of villages have also been included in the camps. The lists of elderly people above 60 years of age, doctors and frontline workers have been prepared.
Priority will be given to those who are suffering from serious diseases, including diabetes, heart disease, diseases related to kidney and liver and cancer. The reports suggest that no registration is required for the booster dose. However, an appointment must be taken before that. Also, a prescription from the doctor would be required.
Those eligible for booster doses can directly go to the vaccination centres and take an appointment.
It is to be noted that only those who have taken the second dose 9 months ago, or have completed 39 weeks time period, only they will be eligible for this dose.
Also, no different vaccine will be given to the eligible persons. For example, those inoculated with Covishield would not be given the booster dose of Covaxin.
