CJI NV Ramana: TV debates create more pollution than everybody

Chief Justice of India NV Ramana on Wednesday said that the TV debates were creating more pollution than everybody. While hearing a case related to the air condition and severe pollution in the national capital New Delhi, NV Ramana in the Supreme Court made the statement.

According to Live Law Twitter, Ramana made the statement.

On November 13, the Supreme Court had asked the Central Government to take necessary steps to overcome the air pollution in Delhi.

The apex court had also reprimanded the Delhi government for playing the blame game and not taking the necessary steps to curb the menace.

A bench headed by CJI NV Ramana and Justices DY Chandrachud and Surya Kant had also expressed their disappointment as the executive was not taking any stern decision for resolving the issue.

It is to be noted that the Delhi Government had directed all the educational institutions to remain shut till further notice. Also, the construction work across the national capital, except those related to public transport and national security, has been put to a halt till November 21.
